International Trade Rankings Consultative Committee

The Hinrich Foundation has partnered with university ranking expert QS to evaluate and rank graduate programs in the area of international trade. The International Trade Rankings was developed to enable students to identify the right programs to accelerate their trade careers, help employers to recruit talent from top trade programs and support universities to enhance the teaching of global trade for better graduate outcomes.

To ensure the relevancy of the ranking criteria, the Foundation elicited input from a panel of trade professionals and graduate-level professors of practice with decades of experience working across global trade value chains.

Among key recommendations are that a quality trade curriculum includes courses on cross-border trade, trade policy, trade logistics, international trade finance and cross-cultural leadership. Other requirements to enhance graduate outcomes include courses taught by professors with rich industry experience, plus strong industry engagement and innovative teaching approaches.
