Mark A. Cohen is Distinguished Senior Fellow and Director at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology. He is also a Lecturer in Law at UC Berkeley.
He was formerly Senior Counsel, China at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) and the first USPTO Attaché to China (2004-2008). Mr. Cohen is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, the highest award in the US Civil Service, from President Trump for his work on Chinese technology transfer and IP issues. He holds a JD degree from Columbia Law School, an MA in Chinese Literature from the University of Wisconsin and a BA in Chinese Studies from SUNY Albany.
