Scholar background

Trinh Nguyen is the Procurement Business Partner and Packaging SPOC at Nestlé, the world’s largest food and beverage company. She is responsible for developing packaging procurement strategies and managing business partners for their Infant Nutrition category as well as for new businesses.

After starting as an Operational Buyer in Vietnam, Trinh was transferred to the company’s Philippines office for two years before relocating back to Vietnam and joining the Procurement Department. She was in charge of implementing sourcing strategies for 30 vendors across multiple technical and logistics categories, whose average collective purchases  totaled more than US$21 million. In addition, she enhanced efficiency via cost reduction and pricing strategies. She has received multiple honors for her outstanding performance, including the “JUST DO IT” recognition for efficient logistics initiatives.

Trinh obtained her bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade from the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City in 2016.

Personal statement

I have gained a wealth of experience through working in a professional corporate environment. I am passionate about developing as a leader and always strive to further my skills. Working in international business has shown me the becoming more competitive in global markets requires further education.

The Master of Global Trade Scholarship will provide me with a broad range of knowledge that will empower me to better understand the intricacies of the business world. Being accepted into this prestigious program will not only allow me to become a strategic leader in the dynamic world of  international trade, but will also inspire me to contribute to the innovation and advancement of sustainable trade across global value chains.

I am proud to join the Hinrich Foundation community, and am looking forward to expanding my professional network and building partnerships across different industries. With my passion to achieve, I am excited to be exposed to the teachings of this Program and to take my career to the next level.
