Alumni background

Nobi is a footwear and apparel industry supply chain management professional with over ten years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, and manufacturing operations.

Based in Bangladesh, Nobi currently serves as the Country Manager for Headwin Group of Companies. He oversees all aspects of the country's operations, including sourcing, product development, production, and quality control.

Previously, Nobi spent over six years at VF Asia Sourcing, a global leader in apparel production with over 20 footwear and accessory brands like Vans, The North Face, Timberland, and Dickies. During his tenure, he progressed through various positions, including Engineer in the Manufacturing Excellence Department and Manager of the Sourcing Development Department.

Prior to that, Nobi held the position of Senior Executive at Bata Shoe Company and worked as a Merchandiser at Bay Emporium.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Leather Engineering from the University of Dhaka followed by a Master of Business Administration from Southeast University in Bangladesh. He received a Master of Science in Manufacturing System Engineering through a joint program between the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Warwick, London, co-funded by the Hinrich Foundation and VF Corp. Most recently, Nobi received a Hinrich Foundation Scholarship to obtain a Master of Global Trade from RMIT University Vietnam in 2021.

Personal statement

As the world is changing every moment, we need to equip ourselves with skills and learn best practices to adapt to these changes efficiently. Through the Masters of Global Trade program, I will learn different aspects of the global business arena that will enable me to become a global trade leader.

I strongly believe the program allows me to advance my career, as it provides practical learning experiences that will support me in broadening my knowledge and professional network. The Hinrich Foundation and its alumni community is an extensive resource of wisdom and support.

I hope my engagement with the Hinrich Foundation Alumni Association will connect me with some positively minded people, whom I can collaborate with to create mutual benefits for ourselves and the next generation.
