Berlinda Gooi
Alumni Relations Manager, Education Program, Hinrich Foundation
As a seasoned higher-education advancement professional, Ms. Gooi helms the Foundation’s alumni relations, spearheading impactful career and professional development programs for almost 300 Hinrich Foundation alumni and scholars.
With a passion for fostering connections and building communities, Ms. Gooi believes in empowering individuals to leverage their education and professional networks to advance their development. She convenes the annual Global Connect conference that brings the Foundation’s alumni together for networking and leadership development.
Her past experience includes leading alumni relations and engagement in Asia-Pacific for INSEAD and Chicago Booth, working closely with faculty, Admissions and Career Services to strengthen the alumni community and increase the public profile of the universities. At SMU she managed alumni engagement strategy and annual giving, producing marquee events for the alumni community and creating lifecycle programming for students.
Ms. Gooi has also worked for Asia Philanthropy Circle, a non-profit organization connecting Southeast Asian philanthropists for social impact initiatives. She currently co-chairs Prime Time’s Careers group which curates meaningful career development events for a volunteer-led association of professional and business women in Singapore. Her other philanthropy interests include refugee support and healthcare services.
Ms. Gooi has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and an MBA from Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College in New York City.
