Alumni background
Lorie Cascaro Halliday is the Director of the Kanlungan Filipino Consortium, a charitable organization based in London. She has over 20 years of experience in advocacy work, with involvement in environmental, social and political campaigns in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Laos and other Southeast Asian countries.
She has worked as a professional journalist for over a decade, covering economic and social issues faced by marginalized sectors of society. This has sharpened her ability to communicate in a compelling manner for international audiences.
Lorie has held a number of senior editorial roles, including Senior Copy Editor at the Hinrich Foundation and as a Senior News Editor at CNN Philippines. She was also an Editorial Content Manager at TourScanner, where she managed an international editorial staff.
Lorie earned her Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2015 through the Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship Program.
