Export Manager Advanced Training Program

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) continue to play an essential role in the growth and dynamism of industrialized and emerging nations. Export Manager Advanced Training Program is a practical, intensive course developed by Leipzig University, Vietnamese-German University and the Hinrich Foundation to support and enable Asian SMEs to enter the global market and strengthen their competitive advantage.

The Export Manager Advanced Training Program is designed for participants with prior experience in export and import activities who are looking to improve their export knowledge.

The previous cohorts brought together executives, managers, export and import industry professionals and entrepreneurs across different industries such as finished consumer goods, industrial suppliers, equipment, apparel, footwear and logistics providers. Most of the participants are involved in business development, marketing and export planning and strategy.

English proficiency is required.

The Export Manager Advanced Training program is taught by international professors and lecturers with rich global expertise in SME internationalization. Theoretical insights and practical experience are delivered through in-class lectures, online modules and 1-on-1 business coaching and consultation to help students address their business challenges and identify opportunities for growth.

The Hinrich Foundation offers scholarships for applicants who are passionate about trade and are looking to develop their knowledge and skills to the next level. Qualified applicants of the Export Manager Advanced Training Program can benefit from a scholarship from the Hinrich Foundation.

Vietnam’s manufacturers are seeing a surge in interest from regional and overseas buyers. Exports are growing as sourcing shifts from China to Vietnam. Vietnamese SMEs are also actively exploring new export markets regionally and around the world. This new opportunity will also increase competition.

Online curriculum

The Export Import Certificate (EIC) course is a certification program providing comprehensive and practical knowledge on how to conduct export/import transactions and manage an international business. It consists of 5 core courses and a final examination:

  1. International Trade: Export/Import Overview
  2. International Business Transactions & Contracts
  3. Export/import Finance & Security Devices
  4. International Logistics, Shipping & Sourcing
  5. Global Business Management

Upon completing 5 courses and obtaining at least 70% on the final exam, participants will be able to earn the EIC Certified designation. EIC courses, delivered online by the International Chamber of Commerce Academy (ICCA), are recognized internationally by financial institutions, governments and regulators.

Classes were held on Friday night, Saturday & Sunday, followed by individual coaching at the Vietnamese –German University City Campus.

SMEs comprise majority of the total enterprises in the Philippines. Despite the many opportunities for SMEs to grow their business in domestic and foreign markets, Philippine SMEs still face some challenges particularly when it comes to SME internationalization and exporting activities.
